Majorca ('Mallorca' in Spanish and Catalan) is an island located in the Mediterranean Sea and part of the Balearic archipelago. The name derives from Latin insula maior, 'larger island'; later Maiorica. The island offers a wide variety of landscapes, including the mountains of Tramuntana, cliffs like those at the Cap de Formentor, and lovely coves like Cala de Calobra.
