Photos from Iran

Iran is home to one of the world's oldest continuous major civilizations. The Achaemenid Empire was one of the most powerful Empires that existed throughout its rich history, and one of the most impressive heritage from this ancient time is the ruined city of Persepolis. The visitor will also enjoy the many architectural jewels (mosques, mausoleums and palaces) dating back to the Sassanid and the Safavid dynasties, like the beautiful Shah Mosque in Isfahan or the citadel of Arg-é Bam.
