Kirguistán (kirguí y Ruso: Кыргызстан) es un país montañoso en el corazón de Asia Central. Una explicación para el nombre del pais, es la palabra turca para 'cuarenta ', en referencia a los cuarenta regionales clanes unidos por Manas, un héroe legendario. Las fotos a continuación dan una idea de la forma tradicional de vida en los valles altos, donde la gente vive en yurtas, mientras que el ganado vaga por los pastos mayoría (los jailoos).
