Photos from Lithuania

The Lithuanian history begins with the unification of the Lithuanian tribes by Mindaugas in the thirteenth century to counter the threat of Germanic crusaders. During its history, the country was united with Poland, Russia and was then independent, before being incorporated into the USSR. Lithuania regained its independence in 1991.
