La península de Dingle lleva el nombre de la ciudad de Dingle (irlandese: An Daingean o Daingean Uí Chúis, lo que significa fortaleza de O'Cuis). La península es conocida por su costa increíble (la más occidental accidentado punto Slea Head o la playa muy largo de Inch), y también es famoso por su historia como el Gallarus oratoria.
