Der Name 'China' stammt wahrscheinlich von der Qin-Dynastie. Die Bezeichnung Qin gelangte entlang der Seidenstraße bis nach Europa. Das chinesische Äquivalent zu dem Wort China ist Zhōngguó (中国), das bedeutet 'Reich der Mitte'. China ist einer der weltweit ältesten und kontinuierliche Zivilisationen, und ihr Erbe ist ein Zeugen seiner langen Geschichte :
- Die Verbotene Stadt in Peking geht zurück auf die Ming-Dynastie.
- Die Große Mauer wurde während der Qin-Dynastie errichtet.
- Europäischen Imperialismus hat auch ihre Spuren hinterlassen, in Städten wie Shanghai und Qingdao.
- Heute ist die wirtschaftliche Erfolg Chinas sichtbare in den modernen Pudong Stadtteil von Shanghai.

Doesn't look like China, right ? This is the train station building in Qingdao (青岛, Tsingtao).
This town was formally a german concession. Today a lot of german architecture remains,
but the town is best known worldwide for it's beer "Tsingtao"
